So, EC friend & amazing singer/songwriter, Zach Ashton, has generously allowed us to offer a free download of one of his killer tunes to our readers. Zach, self described as “cursed with intensity and blessed with emotion”, calls San Francisco his home these days.

Since we’re gearing up for Kona and in a constant state of rush, we opted to go with one of Zach’s mellow tunes – OCEAN. Fitting since that’s where we’re headed in a couple weeks. So, after a long day of rocking the loud stuff while training, download a little Zach and let it’s mellow-ness take you over.

Been on the road and finally returned home this evening. Decided to chill out with a little tune-age from our friends ALO. They played an amazing acoustic performance of this last week at our little breakfast soiree – if you’re not convinced to check these guys out yet, they’re albums rock and they’re even better live.

Here’s a couple more videos from last weekend’s breakfast with Jack Johnson, ALO & Paula Fuga. If you’ve never seen these guys live, you’re missing out. Just guys with their instruments – jamming. No preservatives necessary! Awesome stuff!

So, this morning I was invited to join Jack Johnson, ALO, Paula Fuga and some of the most popular radio stations in the country to an intimate breakfast and jam. Truly unbelievable opportunity. Getting to chat with some of my favorite musicians and then listen to them play in a small acoustic setting – words cannot describe. I was able to bring my oldest daughter, Summer, and she literally cornered and mauled Jack until he bust a gut laughing. It was pretty cool of them all to perform a small set each, even though they had rocked Salt Lake City the night before and had to rock Red Rocks tonight. First words out of ALO frontman Zach Gill’s mouth were, “Cool shirt!” Needless to say, we had a small stash of tees for all of ALO and Jack.

Jack actually got injured the day before while shooting his latest music video & he said he was in the process of losing his voice. It was very cool of him to not only perform, but to hang out afterwards.

No real explanation of this shot is necessary. Sometimes you’re driving down the PCH and the waves are crashing, and the sound consumes you. So much, that you feel God is playing his own riff just for you – and, since you happened to have your kit in the car – might as well lay down a little baseline for him.
